About McKellar Park

McKellar Park sits between Denbury Avenue and Sherbourne Road and reaches from Carling Avenue north to the Ottawa River; Wikipedia notes it is sometimes treated as part of greater Westboro. McKellar Park itself has a fieldhouse run by the Dovercourt Recreation Association, plus a wading pool and an outdoor rink, and the Byron Linear Tramway Park crosses the neighbourhood on the old streetcar right-of-way. The ward boundary moved to Denbury Avenue for the 2022 election, putting McKellar Park in Bay Ward. Residents told CBC they shop and send their children to school in neighbouring Westboro. The new Sherbourne O-Train station is being built in the Byron Linear Park at the neighbourhood's western edge.

Boundaries

Bounded by Denbury Avenue (and its line north) to the east, Sherbourne Road to the west and south-west, the Ottawa River/Kichi Zibi Mikan to the north, and Carling Avenue at its south-east corner (McKellar Park Community Association map; Wikipedia gives Denbury to the east, Sherbourne to the south and west, and the river to the north). Highland Park is directly east and Carlingwood is to the south-west across Sherbourne. mckellarparkcommunity.wordpress.com en.wikipedia.org
